Outside Part II

Mum took us outside again today!

I got a lot braver and I came out onto the grass with the other kitties. There was lots of nice grass to eat too! It was very sunny and rather hot because of my black fur. I laid in the shady parts mostly, but I did sit at the top of the stairs lounging for awhile too. I went back inside when the lady from upstairs came out with her little baby because I'm not really sure about all that noise it was making.

Mum is very proud of me for being such a brave Mancat today. She gave us extra stinky goodness for dinner as a special treat. Also, Pandora and Zowie are done their medication too. 2 good reasons for a special treat!

And also I wanted to point out the cool new header that mum made for the blog! It has that nice photo of me sitting all gentlemancatly on it!

The Outside

It's really nice out today, so mum took Pandora and Zowie outside. I cried at the front door, so she came back and put my harness and leash on. She knew I was a bit scared of the outside, so she left the door open and let me come out when I wanted to.

I can proudly say that I made it to the top of the stairs! And mum even has a photo to prove it. There were lots of great smells, and there were birds chirping in the trees that I was able to get a better look at.

Pandora and Zowie love the outside. They ate some of the grass, and wandered around sniffing stuff.

Maybe next time I will get even further than just the stairs.

Friday!

Mum has her laptop back, so we can post! Hurrah!

Pandora and Zowie get to take pills for 5 days - they are not very happy about that, and mum says that Pandora is not very good at taking pills because she likes to spit them out. I don't know if I've ever had to take pills, but I'm sure I probably wouldn't like it either.

The other day Pandora and I touched noses, and I licked her nose! Boy was she surprised! But I think she is starting to like me a bit more. :)

Toes Tuesday

You can see my toes in this picture that mum took yesterday. I am sitting very gentlemanly on the chair in the living room. (It has a quilt on it to keep the furs from getting too much.)

Mum's computer is going into the shop tonight, so probably no posting till she gets it back. Hope everyone has a good week!

Purrs to our friends

I wanted to send out special purrs to my pal Rusty because he's not been feeling well. His mum has taken him to the vet, and they're trying to figure out what's wrong. Get well soon, Rusty!

I also am sending out purrs to my two sisters, especially Pandora, because they're still having tummy upsets. Mum says she's waiting for test results from the v-e-t, and then they'll know more.

Also, it's Mancat Monday, and I am feeling very much like a snuggly Mancat today. I am laying next to Mum while she types on her laptop, and it is very nice and warm. I'm going to try not to snore, but sometimes I do.

The vet, litter boxes, and honeysuckle!

Here's another picture of me with the new fountain.

Pandora (and also Zowie) are back from the v-e-t. Mum says that the v-e-t is going to send some samples for testing, and that we should know very early next week if Pandora and Zowie have any parasites or anything. In the meantime, they both got de-worming medicine just in case.

Mum has been busy today! After the v-e-t, she went and bought me a nice new big litter box! My other one was fine, but it was a bit on the snug side because I'm so big. I also tended to kick litter out the door and onto the floor, so mum figured that a big, jumbo box would be good for me. The new box is very nice - it is green and grey, and it is much bigger than my old one.

And you know the best part?? Mum bought me a BIG stick of honeysuckle! It's such a big stick that I can grip it between all my paws! Mum also wants me to tell everyone that the shop she gets her honeysuckle at is called The Cat House. She says that they have a website - thecathouseinc.com, and that they apparently do mail order. So maybe some of you other kitties can ask your mums and daddies to buy you some. The small pieces are $1, and bigger pieces (up to really big logs) are more. Mum saw a really big log for $15, but she didn't get it for me this time.

Friday Present!

Mum bought us kitties a cat fountain today!

I quite like it already, but Zowie and Pandora aren't quite sure of it just yet. Mum even managed to get a couple photos of me with it. She said it was hard because I wouldn't sit still, but I like to try and play with the loop on the side of the camera.

Mum is also wondering if more than one of us kitties has tummy upsets, because she says it is hard to tell sometimes. I have this feeling that whatever treatment Pandora gets prescribed at the v-e-t tomorrow will be given to me and Zowie as well.

Not nip

Just being relaxed. I squint when mum takes pictures with the flashy box. I also way prefer honeysuckle to nip.

I heard from mum that Pandora gets to go to the v-e-t on Saturday, as her upset digestion hasn't seemed to improve. (Don't worry though, she's still eating and drinking just fine.)

Toes Tuesday

Zowie helpfully posed her toes for today's picture. (She's sleeping on the cushion again.) It's hard to see, but one of her toes is without its claw, because she got it caught on something and pulled it out when she was a younger kitty.

Holiday Mancat Monday

Today is a holiday in Canada - it's Victoria Day. It's also very wet and rainy out again, so us cats and mum are hanging out inside where it's warm. Here I am this morning, snoopervising the doings of the living room. Zowie is sleeping on the cushion and Pandora is snuggled up with mum because she's not feeling well. Mum said she's had an upset tummy. Hopefully she'll feel better soon.

Yesterday was a fun day because I got to see my friend Lori, who used to take care of me at the shelter. She came for a visit and gave me lots of cheek rubs and scritches. :)

Posting again after all

Mum still has her computer because the shop needed to order in parts. So we can post some more this weekend! Mum tells me that she met her friend Nina's cat named Mason, who is a big beautiful cat that looks almost like a tiger. He is as big as me, but he is also older and wiser than me. Mum says he is 18. I got to smell his furs when she came home, but I didn't get to meet him. Instead I got to enjoy the sun! It has finally stopped raining!

Busy weekend!

Mum has a busy weekend ahead of her. Here in Canada it is a long weekend (Victoria Day), and she has lots to do. Most importantly, her computer has to go in to the shop for a repair, and she's not sure if she'll be able to post. So I asked her to put lots of photos in this post for you to enjoy!

There are some new faces in today's post. Mum wanted to post a couple photos of my cousins, Freddie (the floofy grey kitty) and Bismarck (the silver and black tabby), who live with her brother and his girlfriend. I haven't met them yet but mum says that they are very lovely sweet kitties.

That clicky box

I was sleeping until mum woke me up with that clicky box again. I'm glad that she doesn't use the flash too much. This is a good picture of my cheeks. I'm sitting on the very top of my pagoda house, which is a great place for keeping an eye on the doings in the kitchen.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

As you can see, me and my sisters take turns sleeping on the cushion. (Mum says this gives a good idea of their size compared to mine.)

Another rainy day

Another very wet day, and that means no sunbeams to lie in and be all cozy and warm. Mum says tomorrow is probably going to be the same, and maybe even the day after. Not very fun for us kitties. In the meantime, Pandora will curl up in mum's sweater, Zowie will lay on her blanket under the heating vent, and I will curl up on the cushion. That way we'll all be nice and warm. (By the way, mum likes this picture because you can see my tongue.)

Mancat Monday

On this Mancat Monday, mum is at home as she's not feeling very well. But this means that she gets to hang out all day with us kitties. We're very good at making her feel better.

She also was able to get some great photos of me. I couldn't resist lying on my back in the middle of the living room floor. It's more comfy than it looks!

Happy Mother's Day!

I don't have a photo of me with my mum yet (we're working on that), but I wanted to wish her a Happy Mother's day! She's been my mum for almost two months now. :)

Life is Grand!

I got this great award from PoppyQ!

I have to tell you five reasons why my life is grand:
1. I get snuggles everyday from my mum.
2. I have nice sisters, even though they still hiss at me sometimes.
3. I get lots of good food, and especially canned food!
4. I get Whiskas Tempations treats!! I love them so much.
5. I have a nice home and don't have to be outside on the street anymore. I am nice and safe and loved.

I would like to give this award to any kitties that haven't yet had it. :)

Sleepy Saturday

Today is a nice quiet day. Mum managed to get a photo of me yawning, but it looks more like I am pretending to roar like a lion (or maybe snarl like a panther?) I'm afraid that my teeth are a little lopsided because I had to have one pulled. It was cracked, so it had to go before it got all sore. I don't mind though, because I'm not the only kitty around here with less teeth. Pandora is missing some of hers too. Mum thinks it's funny when our top lips get caught on our bottom teeth, because then it gives us a 'sneer like Billy Idol', she says. I don't know who or what that is, but that's okay.

A kitchen cat

Mum got a gift in the mail from her friend in the Netherlands. It's a kitchen timer in the form of a cat. And it looks just like me!

Pandora loves her brown mouse

Pandora has a favourite mouse. It's big, and brown, and she can play with it for hours. It ends up under the sofa a lot and mum has to fetch it out. She filmed Pandora playing with her mouse on the sofa the other day. I think it looks like a lot of fun, but Pandora doesn't like to share her mouse so much. That's okay though, because there are lots of other toys here for me to play with instead.

Rainy Tuesday

It was raining and hailing this afternoon, and Mum was wet when she got home from work. So, to remind us of the nice sunny days, here is a photo of me looking out the window when it's nice outside.

Mancat Monday

Mum took me outside again today. It wasn't quite as scary as last time, but I still didn't get all the way up the stairs to the sidewalk. One of these days I will be a big brave Mancat, but for now I still remember the bad parts about being outside before the MEOW Foundation found me.

Visiting Sunday

Us kitties have had lots of visitors today. Mum's friend Nina came over, and she brought us some lovely toys! Mum says that she'll let us play with them later, as we have a nice big mouse to play with right now, and lots of other stuff.

Mum's uncle also came over for a cup of tea, and I like him a lot, so I came over for lots of ear scritches and cheek rubs.

It's naptime now, so I will say goodbye and talk to you all tomorrow! :)

Lazy Saturday

Mum's heading out to go look at books today, and maybe (if she has time) pop into the MEOW Foundation's Adoptathon. So it'll be a lazy day for us kitties.

So today I can give special congratulations to Rusty, for celebrating his 'Gotcha' day - it was in 1991 (1 May) that he was adopted!

And also a big hello to Lori, who visits my blog and was one of my nice human friends at the shelter :) (Mum says if you email us she'll send you lots more photos of me!)

Feature Friday!

Wow, I've been featured over at the Zoolatry blog and have found some great new friends! Also, they have made a very nice graphic (as you see above). All the kitties here, and Mum, are super impressed.

I also wanted to introduce 3 of my favourite blogging kitties (and parents of kitties):

Firstly, Mum's favourite blog, the Itty Bitty Kitty Committee. This site encouraged my Mum to go to the shelter and find a kitty to take home and love. I'm sure glad she did!

Next, the House Panthers, where I am a member (though I haven't posted yet because I can't decide what to post.)

And thirdly, Romeo the Cat. Lots of kitties and parents know him already, but I wanted to post about him anyway, because Mum really likes how he raises money for shelters. And I like to read about him and his brother Pugsley.
