Purrs for Pandora

The mum here...Well, Pandora's not a very happy kitty at the moment. The vet was over today, and Pandora had blood drawn and (an attempted) urine sample (but she peed a bit on the floor, and there was blood, so the vet took some of that.) UTI, and possibly (after physical examination) a likelyhood of hyperthyroidism. But the blood results will give a bigger picture. So, Pandora's on antibiotics for the UTI, and I'm sure she'll just love that. It's liquid, but I don't know how it'll taste...

I had the vet in because Pandora had peed outside the litterbox twice in two days. She's the only cat of my three who has ever had UTIs before, and that's exactly the symptom she showed the first two times. (First time, she peed on me, lol). She now has 10 days worth of antibiotics, and I'll have to wait until next week to get the results of the bloodwork. I'm really hoping it isn't hyperthyroidism or anything else. Pandora's cuddling pretty close and I'm sure she'd love some purrs and grrrs from the blogosphere. :)

We're purring hard for Pandora, that it's "just" a UTI that clears up quickly with the ABs, and that's she's not hyper-t (though that's manageable via meds, or cured via the I-131 radiation treatment).

IF Pandora turns out to be hyper-t, Cheri from Cats of the Wildcat Woods would be a good resource for homeopathic options to support her heart/other organs (when diagnosed with hyper-t, we mean).

Our Annie was hyper-t and was on transdermal methimazole.

But we rather hope it's not hyper-t all the same.

Hugs and kitty kisses.

WE are sending tons of purrs to Pandora. If it is hyperthyroid, it can be treated in a couple of ways. I had a cat that had it for five years. And she did great on the medication. We are crossing our paws too.Take care.

Sending some comforting purrrrrsss and healing purrrrrayers to Pandora.

This may sound weird, but we're really hoping it is just an UTI. A UTI is a pain, but girl kitties can deal with it pretty well.

Pandora says thank you for the purrs, and mum says thank you for the advice. :)

And I must tell you that the v-e-t proclaimed me mancatly and handsome, so I think she's a pretty good v-e-t! :)

Aw, poor Pandora. Our Zoey is having a similar problem...and is on a 10 day course of antibiotics too.

We hope Pandora feels better soon.

We are sending healing purrs Pandora's way. Hoping that it is not hyper T, which must be treated as it drives heart and kidneys too hard, among other things.

Big purrs and prayers for Pandora. We sure hope that those antibiotics work some magic. As far as hyperthyroidism is concerned, our Sammy has it for years, and has done very well on meds.

Hugs!
