MEOW Foundation: Feral Power !!
The MEOW Foundation has this awesome new program! We just have to tell you about it, as we think it is so very cool!
They have waived the adoption fee for those awesome beans who adopt one of the foundation's shy cats! We think that is great, because there are so many lovely cats at the shelter (and in foster homes) that are super sweet, but because they are shy, they get less attention, and thus are not adopted as often. Our mum met some very sweet cats when she was looking to adopt.
If you are a bean in the Calgary area, please think about adopting.
If you are a bean (or can ask your bean) who can give a donation to the MEOW Foundation, please do. We'd like to help them out since they are waiving the adoption fee. (That fee goes towards helping fund spays/neuters and care for all the shelter kitties.)
Mum says that if we get any monies for Christmas, some of the monies will be going to this program. :) I want lots of kitties to get adopted so that they can have nice mums to give cheek and chin scritches like this:

That is a neat program.
Our human mum is shy (some folks might say she's a steam roller, though)so she really likes to support shy cats. One of our brothers was a feral cat who could never accept humans. The only time he ever let mum touch him is if she has a plate of food in her hand. He never sought human affection or company. He had been adopted out by his shelter several times because he was so beautiful, but always returned. Once he was returned severely beaten. (The adopting family let their 12 year old son punch him in the face when he was "bad".) But mum loved him anyway. He died of cancer, after 2 surgeries, a year ago at age 14.
Yay, Percy!! You are so right... sweet quiet cats, like our Percy, just don't "grab" the very beans whose lives they'd enrich beyond measure.
Terrific program! Thanks for sharing! Can't wait to catch up on your adventures over the next week. I've missed you (while I've been buried in busy season at work and family doings!)!
My mum and dad adopted me and I was the shyest kitty at the shelter. I am a big fan of shy cats. Good on your mum for helping out.
Henry was adopted too, so he is all for this. Somebody is getting a neck scratch, huh?

What a nice program to help shy kitties find their forever homes! Yay for them and we hope that lots of kitties get adopted!

This is a wonderful program. I hope lots of shy cats find good homes this way.
scritches can help a shy cat trust and become a not-so-shy cat...they all need that chance and we hope that this helps find forever homes for them soon...
